The Indian unit of Vehicle Certification Agency (VCA), part of the United Kingdom Department for Transport and a recognised leader in the field of European vehicle type approval testing, is keen on offering Management Systems Certifications (MSC) in India. Although the agency has no immediate plans to introduce this service in the country, Managing Director, VCA India, Indeep Singh Madan said the agency is capable of offering MSC services, if demanded by its customers.
As business grows, MSC is considered a natural extension of the type approval services. Director - Finance and IT and Member of the Management Board of VCA, Aidan Buckle said the agency has the expertise to offer all required certifications on quality, safety and environment, but there is no mad rush to get into certifications immediately, he said. It is important to take careful approach, he said.
Buckle was in India recently to be part of VCAs tie up with the International Centre for Automotive Technology (iCAT). Set up in 2006, iCAT is the first of the test centres set up by the
National Automotive Testing and R&D Infrastructure Project (NATRiP). |
